About UnoJPG

UnoJPG is a free online toolkit built around one format: JPG. Convert, compress, resize, crop, and retouch JPEG images without installing software or uploading a single file to a server. Every tool runs in your browser, respects your privacy, and is designed for the everyday JPG jobs people actually run into.

What UnoJPG Is

UnoJPG is a collection of practical, no-nonsense JPG utilities: a converter that moves images between JPG, PNG, WEBP, GIF and other formats, a compressor that can hit an exact file size, plus croppers, resizers, rotators, and colour and effect tools. Every tool is built to do one job well and to stay out of your way.

There are no accounts to create, no files to upload, and no hidden limits on the things that matter. Whether you need to shrink a JPEG to fit a 100 KB upload limit, turn a PNG into a JPG for a form that refuses transparency, or batch-convert a folder before a deadline, the tool you need is one click away.

Why JPG Deserves Its Own Toolkit

JPG is the most widely used image format on the web, and also one of the most misunderstood. It cannot hold transparency, it loses a little detail every time it is re-saved, and its quality settings interact with file size in ways that trip people up. Most general-purpose image editors treat those quirks as edge cases.

UnoJPG treats them as the main event. Our tools default to the choices that make sense for JPEG: transparent PNGs are flattened onto a colour you pick instead of turning black, quality sliders show the trade-off before you download, and size-limit compression aims at the number you actually need. Getting JPG right is the whole point of this site, not a side effect of it.

How Our Tools Are Built and Tested

Every UnoJPG tool is built in plain HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, with no accounts, no installs, and no artificial caps. Before a tool goes live it is tested in real browsers against real files — including the awkward ones: CMYK and progressive JPEGs, photos with EXIF rotation, and files several megabytes large.

Tools that users report as broken are fixed or rebuilt rather than left to decay. Image formats and browsers keep changing, so a tool that worked last year is re-verified rather than assumed to still work. The result is a JPG toolkit you can rely on, not a pile of abandoned widgets.

Everything Runs in Your Browser

The one rule every tool on UnoJPG follows is simple: your images never leave your device. When you convert a JPEG to PNG or compress a photo down to a target size, the work happens locally in your browser using JavaScript and the Canvas API. Nothing is uploaded, stored, or seen by us.

This is not a privacy promise you have to take on faith — it is an architecture you can verify yourself. Open your browser’s developer tools, switch to the Network tab, and use any tool: you will see no outgoing request carrying your data. Disconnect from the internet and the tools keep working, because there is no server in the loop.

We built it this way because the images people process are often exactly the ones that should never travel: private photos, client work, and documents with sensitive content. Client-side processing removes that risk entirely instead of managing it.

Free Means Free

No sign-ups, no trials, no watermarks, and no “pro” tier holding back the useful features. UnoJPG stays online through lightweight, unobtrusive advertising — that is the entire business model, and your images are not part of it.

Because your files never reach our servers, they cannot be monetized, analyzed, or leaked. Free here means free, not “free until you need the thing you came for.”
